Measure A Update
The Say No to Measure A fundraiser was a big success and we had some great comedians visiting Including Billy Wayne Davis of Grown Local Podcast, Mike Glaser of the Weed and Grub podcast, David Bienenstock from Great Moments in Weed History, and more. They put on a great show and helped raise money to stop Measure A and the Mateel Community Center.
About a week ago, the Humboldt County Growers Alliance announced that a lawsuit has been filed against the proponents of Measure A, brought on by 7 small cannabis farmers.
“[O]n the grounds that signature-gathering efforts for the Humboldt Cannabis Reform Initiative – currently slated to appear on the March 5, 2024 ballot – were based on a lie.”
They are claiming that signature gatherers were telling voters that this initiative would: ” ‘ensure greater public participation” and “support small-scale, high-quality cannabis cultivation.’ ” and did not include the full 143-page text from the initiative, “as required by law.”

Things to do in Humboldt in the Fall
Fall is the best time to visit the redwoods if you don’t mind the rain. Less crowds on the trails, water in the creeks and rivers, and everything is green. Here are a couple activities to enjoy after your hikes. Be sure to check them out and support them when you visit Humboldt.
Don’t forget your rain jacket.
Get a cannabis-infused massage at Social Spas in Arcata. Although they are not a dispensary, they do offer cannabis-infused massages. They have a full menu of options, making it hard to choose. They offer a menu of massages, facials, and combination packages. Just stop by Pacific Paradise in Arcata before your massage to get the Social Nature-infused massage oils.
Enjoy a redwood hot tub soak or sauna at Finnish Country Hot Tubs and Cafe Mokka in Arcata. These tubs are truly amazing, especially in rainy weather. They have a small coffee shop where you can buy espresso or hot cocoa and cozy up to the fire. They have both hot tubs and saunas and they are rented privately in 30-minute increments. They will only take reservations for that day, so you cannot reserve ahead of time. It can also be tricky getting through once reservations open up. That tells you how awesome this place is. They also have a beautifully landscaped pond you are sure to enjoy.
Crisp is Humboldt’s newest indoor smoking lounge. Enjoy some Slice of Humboldt pie after smoking that joint. They also have a large selection of edibles and drinks, including infused sodas, and they will even make you a root beer float. Check out their calendar to find live entertainment.
Take a dispensary tour with us! We will show you around to 4-5 dispensaries with great selections of products and knowledgeable staff. Ask questions, smell the buds, and buy the goods. You will sleep well after this tour. This tour is only $95 per person.
